About
Why Hunar Circle
Inspired by Aqa Moula (TUS)'s waaz unwaan of Ashara Mubarakah 1448H on the different kinds of hunar and how Mumineen should excel in each of them, we present Hunar Circle.
Hunar Circle is a free, person-first listing of skilled Dawoodi Bohra individuals. The unit of value is a person and their hunar (skill), not a shopfront: freelancers, tradespeople and professionals such as tailors, tutors, developers, lawyers, cooks and consultants, many of whom do not have (or need) a registered business.
Each person has one profile with their photo, bio, skills, location or service area, and an availability status. A profile can optionally attach up to five work entries, and any business a person owns gets its own public listing that inherits the owner's contact details.
How it helps people
- For members: a clean, shareable profile link with a custom preview card for WhatsApp and social, so word-of-mouth referrals reach more people. Listing is free today, and any paid ranking or featured slots would only come later.
- For people hiring: two browsable listings, Hunar (people) and Business, each filterable by skill or category, availability and location, so you can find someone from within the community for the work you need.
- For trust: every profile and every business is manually reviewed by a person before it goes live, and each carries a verification badge.
How verification works
Nothing is listed automatically. When someone submits a profile or a business, a real reviewer works through it by hand. The profile and each attached business are verified independently: a profile can be approved while a business under it is still pending, and a business is never published under an unverified profile.
- 1. Screen for completeness. We check that the name, skill, location, phone number and a real (non-stock) photo are all present, and ask for anything missing before spending review time.
- 2. Check the photo by eye. A reviewer looks at the profile photo to confirm it shows a real person, not a stock or scraped image. This step alone filters out most low-effort or fake submissions.
- 3. Call or WhatsApp if something looks off. If a submission looks suspicious or a detail does not add up, only then do we reach out for a short conversation to confirm the phone number is real and the skill and location claims hold up. This is done manually, not by an automated code.
- 4. Approve or reject, and publish. Approved profiles and businesses go live with a verification badge and a short "you're live" message. Rejections get a brief, respectful reason and a chance to resubmit. You get an email when your profile or business is approved and goes live.
Target turnaround is within 48 hours. If anything looks off, we reach out on the phone number provided before publishing.
